Restoration works
10.04.2024 – In beautiful spring weather and with all the approvals obtained, part of the restoration work at the Tinovul Onceasa was implemented. This peatland is facing with drainage problems and intensive grazing. Among the restoration works implemented we mention:
- placement of piezometers;
- creating billboard;
- creating tourist signs.
Locations for creating dams and fencing have also been marked.
Creating promotional materials
2.2024 – In order to promote the peatland ecosystems associated with the NWPEAT project, several distinct informational and promotional materials have been created for each peatland. In this regard, Onceasa Peatland has a digital brochure and a billboard that will be placed on-site.
Restoration scheme – Onceasa
25.02.2022 – In order to restore the functions of the BH-011-Onceasa peatland ecosystem, it is envisaged to obtain an optimal hydrological balance and to improve the state of the ecosystem. The main identified pressures and threats affecting this wetland are drainage and overgrazing.
Field documentation – Onceasa
24.05.2022 – Another peatland observed by the project team in May 2022 was the Onceasa peatland, with a situation similar to the one encountered in the Ic Ponor peatland. Its good state of preservation will require a reconfiguration of the proposed restoration measures.
