Exchange of best practices in Norway

From 22-25 February 2024, some of the members of the NWPEAT team from Babeș-Bolyai University were on an exchange of experience at the headquarters of the Norwegian partner, the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (Trondheim, Norway), an action undertaken in the framework of the project “Wetland and Peatland Restoration in the Northwest Region” (NWPEAT).
The following actions were carried out during the stay:
- Workshops on 22-23 February 2024 at NINA headquarters, with the participation of several people from the two teams from Romania and Norway, with discussions associated with financial management and associated procurement at NINA, in the context of the implementation of EEA grants; exploitation of the hydrological component and projects aimed at research in this field; post-monitoring actions for sites in the NWPEAT project; awareness raising actions and promotional materials associated with peatlands; existence ofgreen courses) for all those working in the field of nature restoration; proposals for future collaboration;
- visiting an exhibition with exhibits associated with peat moss species;
- field visits to restored peat bogs (on Hitra, Froya; Songli islands) with associated discussions of the restoration work carried out.
