About the importance of wetlands and peatlands in the academia

The 16th edition of the international conference “Air and Water – Components of the Environment” celebrated World Water Day. The theme of the 2024 World Water Day was: Water and Peace. In the context of living in a world with a series of conflicts, armed or not, which affect water in the most unfortunate ways possible, maintaining a balance is absolutely vital for nature and humanity.

During this event, two presentations by team members were given, featuring scientific results generated through the NWPEAT project:

🐸 Perception of peatland ecosystems;

🐸 Hydrological modeling of the influence of ecological dams for the restoration of the water regime of peatlands. Case studies.
