Restoration works at Tinovul Bălileasa

Location: Tinovul Bălileasa com. Budureasa Bihor Department

 

After obtaining the environmental permit, as well as other authorizations required by the local institutions, part of the restoration works associated with the Bălileasa Peatland were implemented. In several field trips, the following was achieved:

  • placement of billboard;
  • placement of tourist signs;
  • placement of piezometers to monitor water level fluctuations;
  • creation of dams to optimize the water budget in the peatland.

All the restoration work was done with local materials and the impact on the peat bogs was non-invasive.
