Morcovoaia Lake (Buzău County)

Status

Within the trails associated with the Siriu Mountains, not far from the Vulturilor Lake, there is also the Morcovoaia Lake, a peat bog partially blocked by floods. The name of the peat bog reflects the local toponymy, as the stream that feeds the peat bog has the same name.

On the other hand, a number of local legends report that on the Morcovoaia ridge, located above the lake, certain treasures were buried, hence the name Lake Under Treasures.
