Status<\/h4>\n

The B\u00e2lb\u00e2itoarea Lake is an active peat bog with carnivorous plants(Drosera rotundifolia<\/em>) and other rare species. It covers an area of 1.5 hectares (of which the lake occupies almost a quarter). The maximum depth in the peat layer is 14 m, and the water eye has a depth of 12 m (measurements taken in 2009-2013).<\/p>\n

Among the rare species of this peatland, we find the Yellow-bellied Plover(Bombina variegata)<\/em>. No larger than 5.5 cm, amphibians are brownish-brown on the dorsal side, making them “invisible” in the landscape, and they do not make loud sounds, unlike green lake frogs.<\/p>\n
